Project Manager I, Light Industrial and Data Center Construction

About the role

The Project Manager will drive successful project results, ensuring projects are executed safely and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee project execution to ensure safety, lowest reasonable cost, and compliance with client documents and quality requirements.
• Interface with clients by receiving and communicating project setup information, writing significant project-related correspondence, and representing the company in meetings.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents and provisions.
• Develop and/or analyze preliminary project documentation, such as project codes of accounts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Organize and plan the physical work, develop and direct the project schedule, and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Recognize and address activities that could hinder project progress or compromise compliance, and prepare and submit related documents.
• Maintain strict control over project budgets, report monthly on progress and profitability, and write and negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Communicate with all support and business units involved with the project, promote goodwill with clients, and supervise project activities.
• Participate in bidding, pre-construction services, budgeting, and Continuous Improvement Programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a relevant discipline required.
• Familiarity with lump sum, unit price, and competitive bid environments.
• A proven ability to deliver Project Gross Margin on project assignments.
• A strong understanding of risk assessment policies and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to inspire commitment, monitor performance, coach, and develop people, negotiate, create a collaborative environment, reduce liability, solve problems, and issues.
• Ability to travel to out-of-town assignments.
