About the role
The Project Manager will drive successful project results, ensuring projects are completed safely and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee project execution to ensure safety, lowest reasonable cost, and compliance with client documents and quality requirements.
- Interface with clients by receiving and communicating project setup information, status updates, and representing the company in meetings.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents and provisions.
- Develop and/or analyze preliminary project documentation, such as project codes of accounts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Organize and plan physical work execution.
- Create and direct the project schedule, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.
- Recognize and address activities that may hinder project progress or compromise compliance with project/contract requirements.
- Maintain strict control over project budgets and report monthly on project progress and profitability.
- Prepare, quote, and negotiate contract changes with client guidance from Project Directors.
- Maintain open communication with all project support and business units.
- Promote goodwill with clients, architects, engineers, and others to facilitate construction activities and future business.
- Supervise project activities of on-site project managers and staff.
- Participate in bidding, pre-construction services, budgeting, and Continuous Improvement Programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a relevant discipline required.
- Familiarity with lump sum, unit price, and competitive bid environments.
- A proven ability to achieve Project Gross Margin on project assignments.
- A strong understanding of risk assessment policies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to inspire commitment, monitor performance, coach, and develop people, negotiate, create a collaborative environment, reduce liability, solve problems, and issues.
- Ability to travel to out-of-town assignments.
