About the role
AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to oversee Federal environmental remediation projects. The candidate will work from the Providence, Rhode Island AECOM office on a hybrid basis. (On average 3 days a week in office, flexible arrangement).
Responsibilities
- Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
- Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
- Ledges teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices
- Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
- Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
- Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
- Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
- Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
- Counsels and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Requirements
- BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must be able to pass a background check
Qualifications
- Professional License (PE, PG) preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management preferred
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations preferred
- Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy) preferred
- Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA preferred
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills preferred
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery preferred
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences preferred
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders preferred
- Have led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal environmental projects preferred
- Occasional overnight travel required
