Project Manager - Environmental Remediation
About the role
AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to oversee Federal environmental remediation projects. The candidate will work from the Providence, Rhode Island AECOM office on a hybrid basis. (On average 3 days a week in office, flexible arrangement).
Responsibilities
- Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
- Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
- Ledges teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices
- Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
- Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
- Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
- Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
- Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
- Counsels and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Due to nature of work, sponsorship for this role will not be available at this time or in the future.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional License (PE, PG)
- 10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management
- Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related degree
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
- Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy)
- Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
- Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
- Interest in business development
- Occasional overnight travel required

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $115000 to $140000.
