About the role

Participates in the planning, development, scheduling and performance of engineering assignments related to new and existing pipeline safety regulations in CT, MA and at the federal level. Supports operations & maintenance procedures, applies engineering concepts to develop data processing methodologies, and troubleshoots/analyzes system disturbances with stakeholders. Supports activities associated with roll-out of new and revised regulations in MA and CT, including analysis of new regulations impacts and associated implementation planning. Aids in completion of general day-to-day tasks of the Policy & Compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain company standards to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and codes.
  • Coordinate resources required to complete processes or projects.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and communicate changes to key stakeholders, ensuring proactive response to evolving requirements.
  • Monitor and track industry best practices and emerging trends in regulatory compliance to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead implementation of new compliance initiatives resulting from new gas regulations, as directed.
  • Provide necessary details to training organizations to ensure understanding and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and apply regulatory requirements accurately.
  • Deliver superior service to internal and external customers in a reliable, attentive, courteous, quality, proactive and timely manner.
  • Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support the company’s goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
  • Assist in gas distribution system restoration efforts during emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related engineering experience.
  • Gas experience is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA, CT, and NH as necessary.
  • Understanding of Operator Qualification Programs and associated training considered a plus.

Skills

  • Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance work practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable governmental codes and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with MS Office.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate, compare, write technically, edit, plan, evaluate, interpret, organize, consult, analyze, design, document, specify, coordinate, implement, and present.
  • Ability to perform multiple simultaneous activities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with significant business commitments.

Pay

Annual salary range: $116,370.00 - $129,300.00. This position is eligible for a potential incentive.
