This Project Director position represents a key strategic hire, leading large-scale multifamily and mixed-use developments while helping shape the future growth of a market-leading organization with a multi-billion-dollar backlog. Our client is a privately held, vertically integrated real estate development and construction organization with a strong presence across the Western United States. Operating across development, construction, hospitality, property management and related business ventures, the company offers unique stability through a significant portfolio of self-developed projects. With approximately 270+ employees, annual revenues approaching $400M, and a multi-billion-dollar project backlog, the organization has built a reputation for delivering large-scale multifamily and mixed-use developments throughout high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to senior construction leadership, oversee major multifamily and mixed-use developments from preconstruction through completion, while providing leadership across project teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Lead the successful delivery of large-scale multifamily, podium and mixed-use construction projects valued at $100M+.
  • Manage project strategy, budgets, schedules, risk mitigation and overall execution.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Project Engineers and field teams.
  • Ensure project controls, reporting and documentation standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive collaboration between construction, development, preconstruction and operations teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ownership groups, consultants, subcontractors and local stakeholders.
  • Champion accountability, safety, quality and operational excellence across all assigned projects.

Profile

For the Project Director we are seeking:

  • Extensive experience managing complex multifamily construction projects.
  • Strong podium construction experience and proven success delivering large-scale developments.
  • History of overseeing projects valued at $100M or greater.
  • Current experience as a Senior Project Manager, Project Manager or Project Director with demonstrated progression and career stability.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold teams accountable while building positive relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational, scheduling and documentation capabilities.
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, VDC coordination and MEP coordination processes.
  • Exposure to Primavera P6 or similar advanced scheduling platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, budgeting, forecasting and construction operations.
  • Self-starter mentality with a hands-on approach to problem solving and project delivery.
