Project Accountant II
Project Financial Management
Manage project financials, including cost tracking, budget monitoring, and variance analysis.
Perform project cost transfers and adjustments to ensure accurate job costing.
Prepare and maintain project cost reports for Project Managers and leadership.
Support month-end close activities related to project accounting.
Billing & Accounts Payable
Manage project billing, including preparation and submission of AIA billing documents.
Track, prepare, and submit Accounts Payable (AP) payment requests, ensuring proper approvals and timely processing.
Support the change order process, including documentation, cost analysis, and system updates.
Assist with procurement activities, including material sourcing and vendor coordination.
Ensure compliance with OCIP and CCIP requirements as applicable to assigned projects.
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
Cook with vendors and subcontractors to obtain and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
Assist with procurement activities, including material sourcing and vendor coordination
Ensure compliance with OCIP and CCIP requirements as applicable to assigned projects.
Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Utilize document management tools (e.g., DocuSign) to route, track, and store critical project documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Accounting Manager or Vice President of Accounting & Finance.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3+ years of accounting/billing experience in the construction industry required; mechanical contracting or commercial construction strongly preferred
Solid understanding of job costing and project-based accounting principles
Knowledge and experience with AIA billing processes and documentation - Mandatory: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete Form I-9 upon hire

Skills & Abilities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., Viewpoint or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with OCIP and CCIP requirements and compliance
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, or a similar industrial services environment
- Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-location accounting structures
- Experience supporting high-growth or rapidly scaling operations
