About the Role
Coordinate event details for conferences, meetings, catering, and group dining meals. Act as the main point of contact with clients and campus partners for event logistics.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute events based on client objectives.
- Arrange facilities and services for assigned conferences, including follow-up on all details and coordination with service providers.
- Oversee preparation of budgets, financial records, and statements, and monitor income and expenditures for each conference program.
- Develop and maintain conference registration websites.
- Organize, coordinate, and provide event details to campus partners.
- Coordinate group dining hall reservations and billing.
- Support program activities, including group/conference dining reservations, catering orders, scheduling, and billing.
- Prepare and process weekly billing and provide required reports.
- Provide administrative support, such as answering phones, responding to general email, ordering supplies, managing office inventory, depositing funds, and producing reports and financial summaries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduation and five years of related office experience, or an Associate’s degree and three years of related experience, or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to five years.
- Proficiency in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of office practices, procedures, and use of electronic equipment as required by the department.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, customers, students, and the general public.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree.
- Experience in the administrative functions of the conference and catering industry.
Pay
$16.05 - $26.37 per hour. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
Location
Durham, on an 188-acre campus, 60 miles north of Boston and 8 miles from the Atlantic coast.
