About the role

This position performs intermediate-level work under the general supervision of the Program Specialist Supervisor II in the Communications Section, Bureau of Educator Certification, Division of Public Schools. This position provides accurate educator certification information in a professional manner via telephone and email system.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares responses and explains information regarding all aspects of the certification process through the telephone and email system.
  • Access and updates certification database as appropriate for each caller’s file.
  • Identifies and routes production errors to supervisor for appropriate corrective action.
  • Requests assistance with unusually complex telephone calls.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Previous contact center or customer service experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Florida State Board of Education Rules and procedures governing issuance of Educator’s Certificates and renewal of certificates.
  • Knowledge of the application process.
  • Skills in keyboarding, updating database files, operating imaging and telephone system.
  • Ability to organize work activities and handle difficult situations to prevent problems.
  • Ability to prepare forms for computer entry.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal.
  • Ability to work and perform under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of others.
  • Ability to work independently and perform tasks and responsibilities with limited guidance and direction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Pay

Salary Range: $36,317.26 - $38,133.12

Schedule

On-site schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Telework is not available for this role.

Background Screening Requirement

Level 2 background screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer. You will be required to provide your Social Security Number to conduct required verifications.
