Program Manager, Hospital Partnerships
About the role
As the Program Manager, Hospital Partnerships (PMHP), you will oversee donation programs within hospitals and inspire partners to build a positive culture of donation while maximizing potential for organ, eye, and tissue donation. This primarily field-based position serves as the primary liaison between OneLegacy and hospitals, fostering collaboration with healthcare professionals and developing customized donation programs to ensure high-quality service for hospitals and donor families. You will advocate for donors and transplant patients, using data-driven strategies to guide hospital teams in policy development and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Apply the three pillars of building Relationships, Systems, and Resources to ensure donation process success and operational efficiency.
- Relationships
- Implement and manage customized hospital organ, eye, and tissue donation programs while strategizing with partners to achieve CMS benchmarks.
- Establish working relationships with physician groups (e.g., intensivist, hospitalist, trauma, palliative care) to support active referrals and donors.
- Identify and conduct educational opportunities within hospitals and physician groups to meet or exceed CMS conditions of participation.
- Establish and maintain hospital contracts to comply with state and federal laws, standards, and accrediting agency requirements.
- Collaborate with hospitals to develop and implement compliant policies, procedures, and processes that maximize donation.
- Prepare and analyze performance data; partner with hospitals to develop data-driven performance improvement plans.
- Develop internal OneLegacy relationships through training and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Collaborate with eye and tissue bank representatives in assigned hospitals, if applicable.
- Encourage hospital participation in donor awareness events, community-based promotion, and public education activities.
- Partner with Public Education and Public Relations departments to build OneLegacy brand awareness in the community.
- Identify hospital/community events for OneLegacy participation to engage staff and community members.
- Support OneLegacy signature events as required.
- Systems
- Establish onsite and remote access to electronic medical records (EMR) between OneLegacy and hospitals.
- Conduct medical chart reviews to assess donation opportunities and identify missed or late referrals.
- Support or initiate EMR integration with OneLegacy’s digitalDONOR system to improve the donation process.
- Resources
- Serve as an internal and external resource for hospital donation programs and processes.
- Maintain functional understanding of legal and clinical aspects of donation, including death by neurological criteria, donation after cardiac death, recovery protocols, donor maintenance, transplantation, allocation, and preservation.
- Develop resources and donation champions within hospitals to support an efficient donation process.
- Update and maintain hospital profiles in digitalDONOR with pertinent information for operational teams.
- Document all hospital development and improvement activities per AOPO standards and CMS regulations.
- Attend staff meetings and training programs as required.
- Support the organization’s Standards of Professional Conduct and mission, vision, and values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) experience.
- Compliance and regulatory experience preferred.
- Current California driver’s license and vehicle insurance required.

- Willingness to work in active clinical/hospital environments, including critical care and operating rooms.
- Comfort working in environments involving end-of-life conversations, palliative care, and terminal care.
- Frequent travel within the OneLegacy designated service area.
Pay
Salary range: $70,600 - $86,400 annually. Annual auto allowance of $12,000.

Schedule
Full-time, exempt position. Workweek is normally 40 hours, with emphasis on meeting responsibilities rather than specified hours. Must be available evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.
