Program Director – Cyber Execution & Operations

About the role
Sentara is hiring a fully remote Program Director for Cyber Execution and Operations. Occasional travel is required one to two times per quarter.
This role is part of the Office of the CISO and focuses on driving program rigor and execution across the cyber security portfolio to meet Sentara Health requirements. The Execution & Operations (E&O) team designs and provides operational frameworks, processes, and tools for Cyber team implementation and use. As a foundational member of a recently formed team, you will contribute to its ongoing evolution while working on diverse initiatives and interacting with leadership across Cyber, IT, and the business.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and oversee programs and initiatives to improve operations and execution.
- Serve as a key interface with other Cyber, IT, and business teams, building a strong personal brand within the organization.
- Ensure timely and professional communication of status updates for individual work items and program initiatives.
- Maintain and document core foundational processes and procedures for the Office of the CISO.
- Create clear, concise, and audience-relevant agendas, meeting notes, decks, and communications that reflect the Cyber brand.
- Prepare presenters and facilitate meetings of all types (virtual, in-person, hybrid).
- Collaborate to identify Office of the CISO reporting needs and create supporting materials for strategic decision-making.
- Rebuild, rebrand, and maintain Microsoft SharePoint/Teams artifact storage.
- Optimize budget processes, including forecasting, contracting, and invoicing; identify areas for improvement and propose recommendations.
- Coach and train cyber staff in operational best practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a degree, or 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Relevant professional certification in Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP).
- Experienced, proactive, and self-driven generalist with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to anticipate obstacles, develop resolution plans, and communicate effectively.
- Strategic thinker with experience translating current state into a better future state.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under deadlines in a changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working effectively in ambiguous situations and determining the best path forward.
- Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and written summaries.
- Strong prioritization, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Comfortable owning responsibilities and establishing a sense of urgency.
- Agile and product methodology work experience.
- Ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
- Experience interacting with all levels of management.
- Cyber security work experience, preferably in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Occasional work outside of standard business hours.

Pay
Full-time base pay range: $116,729.60 – $216,777.60. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
