About the role
The Program Coordinator assists in implementing high quality camp programming under the general direction of the Camp Director. They ensure campers' safety and well supervision, plan and deliver activities, and connect with staff, campers, and parents.
Responsibilities
- Ensure campers’ safety and well supervision.
- Plan, setup, and deliver a variety of program activities, theme days, and family nights.
- Greet campers and parents with enthusiasm and make them feel welcome.
- Review concerns and progress with the Camp Director/Assistant Director.
- Oversee and monitor safety guidelines and report maintenance concerns.
- Work with leadership to develop communication practices and program initiatives.
- Work cooperatively with all staff and other programs.
- Attend staff meetings, special events, and training events.
Qualifications
- High school student or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting, with at least three previous camp seasons as a Counselor.
- Interest in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
- Basic understanding of youth development principles.
- First Aid & CPR certifications.
- Ability to problem solve and take initiative.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
