Program Coordinator (Part-Time Remote Contract)

About the Organization

Parkinson Association of the Carolinas (PAC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2002, dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s disease in the Carolinas. Our mission is to serve as a resource for individuals and their families affected by Parkinson’s disease through education, community outreach, and direct support. Every day, we connect people with programs, support groups, movement and exercise classes, educational resources, and compassionate guidance that helps them live well with Parkinson’s.

Position Summary

The Remote Part-Time Program Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Program Director to help ensure the successful planning, implementation, and evaluation of PAC’s educational programs, community outreach initiatives, and fundraising events. This position is ideal for a highly organized, self-motivated professional who enjoys making a meaningful impact through nonprofit work. While the role is primarily remote, candidates should be located in South Carolina and able to travel throughout the Carolinas as needed for programs, meetings, and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Program Director in the planning, coordination, and implementation of educational programs and community events.
• Respond to calls received through PAC’s toll-free resource line and email inquiries, providing compassionate information and tracking the number of individuals served.
• Build and maintain relationships with Parkinson’s support group leaders throughout the Carolinas, with a particular focus on expanding engagement in South Carolina.
• Represent PAC by attending educational programs, community outreach activities, and fundraising events.
• Assist in developing educational materials, presentations, newsletters, and other program communications.
• Assist with participant registration, communication, and follow-ups for events and movement therapy programs.
• Maintain accurate program records, databases, and documentation related to workshops, symposiums, grants, and fundraising activities.
• Assist in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of fundraising events including the Move It! Walks and attend fundraising events as requested.
• Support grant implementation by tracking deliverables, collecting metrics, and assisting with required reporting.
• Track program outcomes and assist with evaluation and reporting to demonstrate program impact.
• Perform other duties that support PAC’s mission and program goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, gerontology, communications, social services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to three years of experience in nonprofit administration, program coordination, or a related administrative role preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Experience with Canva, Microsoft Publisher, or other basic graphic design software preferred.
• Event planning and/or volunteer coordination experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
• Demonstrated compassion and sensitivity when working with individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s disease.
