Job Responsibilities

Proactively reviews unclaimed property database (data analysis/mining) to identify, recommend, plan and execute targeted outreach initiatives to generate paid unclaimed property claims and maximize funds returned by the program.

Performs research on property records to identify the likely owner or lawful heir of properties.

Generates claims and tracks results.

Safeguards executive and legislative requests by escalating, documenting, and responding to them in a timely manner and in accordance with agency guidelines.

Aids other team members with researching complex and/or escalated issues.

Gathers and validates data from multiple sources to compile and prepare reports and materials for all program areas.

Assists with activities to raise awareness of all consumer programs offered through the State Treasurer’s Office.

This includes assisting STO Communications with UPP data validation for social media posts and other outreach initiatives and assisting with pre-event logistics, day-of activities and post-event follow up.

Supports the Division Director and other division staff with the implementation of new initiatives, strategies, policies and procedures for the division.

Manages the division’s college intern training and mentoring initiative.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration or a related field and at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in supporting a consumer-facing program or organization.

Candidates must specifically meet the Agency Minimum Requirements or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for this position.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with data analytics/mining and tailoring data and information for executive and public audiences.

Additional Requirements

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential, as are the ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, with a variety of individuals including the general public, executive leadership, public officials and business owners.

An attention to detail and strong research, analytical, data validation and reporting skills are critical.

Successful candidate must be naturally curious and proactive in seeking out accurate information, solving problems, and navigating complex systems to support constituents and staff, and genuinely committed to delivering exceptional service in a government setting.

Must be able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, tracks details across various tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Able to manage shifting priorities, handle interruptions with professionalism, and remain composed under pressure.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Must be able to safely lift and carry files, books and reports weighing up to 25 lbs.

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for intermittent periods of time.

Must be able to reach, bend, and twist at the waist to perform filing, desk work and operate general office equipment.

A willingness and ability to travel.

May require occasional in-state travel and very limited overnight travel.

Must be able to excel in an open work environment with moderate background noise.
