Program Coordinator I (Boards of Counselors, Psychology, Social Work, & Genetics) INTERNAL ONLY

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, direction, and assistance to the administrative functions and operations of the Counselors, Psychology, Social Work, and Genetic Counselors Boards.
  • Interpret licensing statutes and regulations to licensees, applicants, and the public; receive and respond to inquiries (walk-ins, telephone, email, mail, and fax) related to the program areas.
  • Train, supervise, and lead staff who conduct daily operations for the Boards.
  • Weekly review the Boards’ websites, update changes, and ensure updates to the National Practitioner Database.
  • Work with other internal divisions and offices to monitor and enforce all licensee board-ordered terms and conditions and reports of non-compliance.
  • Perform additional functions as assigned, including records retention, board meeting preparation, fiscal and procurement activities, and other statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
  • Must successfully complete a fingerprint-based background check and be vetted by SLED Criminal Justice Information Services.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience directly related to the area of employment and/or prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and practice of office management and general administrative functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion when interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of office equipment, computers, Microsoft, and other software and database programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and organizational functions.
  • Ability to process meeting notes and minutes.

Other Requirements

  • Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • Daily records filing and use of computers and telephones.
  • Occasional overnight travel and work outside of normal Agency business hours (evenings and weekends).
  • May be required to lift, carry, move, and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to bend and squat in upper and lower file drawers.
