Program Coordinator I (Part-Time)

This position is part-time and grant-funded through 3/31/2027. Continued employment is contingent on renewal of grant or restricted funding.

About the Role

The Program Coordinator I is essential for the effective administration and coordination of project LS25-410, a multi-institutional, grant-funded initiative involving faculty, extension personnel, and agricultural producers across multiple states and U.S. Caribbean territory. The project assesses how cultural understanding influences the ways agricultural producers cope with disasters. The role provides critical support for organizing project activities, facilitating communication among internal and external stakeholders, monitoring timelines and deliverables, and assisting with required reporting and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Organize daily activities related to the project and partnerships based on the project goal.
  • Assist with maintaining timelines, deliverables, reports, and resource allocation to ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet defined goals.
  • Respond to general and complex questions and complaints regarding departments or agents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between project partners and stakeholders, facilitating open and clear communication channels to meet project objectives.
  • Assist with preparing and developing presentations for the project team and external stakeholders to communicate project status, findings, and outcomes/impacts.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual progress reports as needed.
  • Work with the project team to establish, maintain, and promote the project’s social media presence to increase visibility within and external to the University.
  • Work with the research team to develop scholarly manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Urban Planning, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Experience in project coordination.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and human relationship skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret scientific literature.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of standard proofreading.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in NVivo, SPSS, and use of AI tools.
