About the role
The Program Coordinator will provide professional consultation and assistance for the targeted population, manage program referrals, and ensure compliance with state regulations and licensing standards.
Responsibilities
- Accept program referrals, conduct intake evaluations and assign clients to appropriate staff or program.
- Review and ensure accuracy of monthly billing; reconcile monthly draft invoices from Program Billing with list of opened and closed cases and referrals; assume responsibility for and track cross-district cases.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, guardians and funders.
- Establish and maintain a presence within the community.
- Identify specialized services needs for clients and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Oversee and/or create, implement and ensure compliance with Plans of Care.
- Understand Agency and Grant budget systems.
- Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate and monitor all direct reports.
- Identify and develop solutions concerning safety risks and conduct program services in a safe, appropriate manner.
- Communicate effectively and encourage open communication ensuring updated Agency, departmental and customer information is distributed appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPPA compliance.
- Provide on-call services and respond to emergency needs for those programs contractually requiring this.
- Ensure our customers are consistently treated with dignity and respect.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and participate in clinical consults, COLT and other agency meetings as requested or required.
- Provide technical assistance in the areas of Family Centered Practices to support programs in the following (as applicable): Partnering with DCF, Helping staff to be multiple certified and capable in the Family Centered Practices offered through our contracts and understand the philosophy, the practice, and this knowledge informs all of their work with families, Assisting DCF District Leadership in the implementation of DCF initiatives so that family centered practices are fully used by the DCF staff, Monitoring the partnership and Easterseals training calendars and informing staff of dates and times to ensure attendance at critical trainings, Providing observations required for staff certifications, Maintaining a list of competencies and certifications for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field, OR Associate’s Degree in human services or related field with four (4) years of relevant experience, OR High School diploma or equivalent with minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience at Easterseals or in a related field required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience, and/or history of progressively responsible work required.
- At least one (1) ES certification is preferred, or the willingness to obtain certification within one (1) year.
- Ability to contribute positively to a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, be flexible, make thoughtful decisions.
- Strong writing, organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, or similar software helpful.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, mostly business hours with some exceptions.
