Responsibilities
- Delivery Of Child Care Referrals: Administer the child care referral program. Provide child care and other family-related information that are tailored to a family’s specifications and needs. Respond to inquiries about a host of topics such as state child care regulations, child care wait lists, public school enrollment, after school programs and care subsidies. Gather, analyze, and research additional resources as needed.
- Lactation Accomodation: Collaborate with the Lactation Program Manager, Campus Facilities, Medical Facilities, and Hospitality Services to support and maintain campus and health lactation sites, overseeing furnishings, supplies, signage, and access by submitting and tracking facilities work orders and vendor requests, and ensure timely maintenance and compliance.
- Program Management: Coordinates with Lactation Program Manager on program updates. Required to abide by all UCSF branding standards as posted at identity.ucsf.edu, including UCSF digital and editorial policies for any content created and utilized for print, for web, for digital signage and the UCSF Mobile app and further systems as they launch; additionally become familiar with the CLS editorial voice as it related to marketing communications and collateral. Remain current with resources and campus policies and make appropriate referrals to campus and community resources regarding lactation, child care, elder care. Update, expand and maintain the licensed child care provider database. Create/update and compile support and educational materials for families. Maintain up to date family services chatter board.
- Data Collection: Gather, maintain and analyze utilization, resources and survey data; prepare reports or analyses of operational activities.
- Communications: Assist Family Services Manager and Lactation Program Manager with the respective program email accounts. Draft Newsletters and website edits Conduct outreach and marketing to UCSF community.
- Overall Program Planning and Development: Engage in program evaluation and service delivery improvement efforts. Research opportunities and partnerships for developing future services.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Knowledge of lactation accommodation policies: University of California – Policy PPSM84 and California State SB.142 and Federal policies. Experience working with and Interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of diverse ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds. Professional customer service delivery. Computer skills to use electronic mail, word processing, Excel, web browsers, zoom, web content management platforms. Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing. Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- PREFERRED Qualifications: 2 years Experience with maintaining lactation sites, including equipment, furnishings, signage and postings, supplies, and materials. Knowledge of San Francisco child care options and other San Francisco family services. Knowledge of California child care regulations and at least a basic understanding of how regulations may vary by state. General knowledge of how to identify and locate child care services and other family resources across the state. Working knowledge of how to find child care services in other states.
