Program Coordinator (Community Engagement Coordinator)
Manage the day-to-day operations of the BMC Urology Prostate Health Mobile Van, a community-based mobile health initiative focused on prostate cancer education, screening, and early detection. This role coordinates with the Urology Department, external transportation and vendor partners, Marketing, and community stakeholders to ensure the program runs smoothly and reaches its target communities. The position operates with general supervision, exercising independent judgment in scheduling, vendor coordination, and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Program Operations (25%): Oversee daily operations of the Prostate Health Mobile Van program, including van scheduling, calendar updates, and coordination of van staffing needs.
- Community Engagement & Representation (25%): Partner with the Community Engagement and External Affairs Office to determine optimal community locations for the van. Represent the program at community events, meetings, and stakeholder convenings.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration (10%): Collaborate closely with the Urology Department and active van staff to address immediate operational needs and ensure a positive patient experience.
- Marketing & Communications (10%): Maintain the community calendar using the Drupal content management system. Collaborate with the Marketing Department and Felix agency to manage and reorder van marketing collateral.
- Metrics & Reporting (10%): Track program metrics—including screenings completed, demographics served, and referral follow-through—in partnership with the Urology Department to prepare reports and dashboards for leadership and funders.
- Logistics Liaison (5%): Serve as the primary liaison with Brewster Ambulance Services, coordinating the mobile van event calendar and ensuring drivers are scheduled and informed of upcoming community events.
- Vendor & Asset Management (5%): Manage vendor relationships, supplies, and equipment maintenance for the mobile unit in partnership with the Urology Department.
- Stakeholder & Civic Coordination (5%): Coordinate with community and business partners on van scheduling and logistics. Work directly with city officials to secure necessary municipal permits.
- Quality Improvement (5%): Identify opportunities for program improvement based on structured program data and direct community feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience).
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant post-collegiate professional experience; previous project coordination preferred.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including strong grammatical, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and other web-based applications.
- Ability to produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with Medical Center personnel and external stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to handle confidential information.
Schedule
Part-time, hybrid work environment with mandatory on-site attendance every Tuesday.
Pay
Compensation range: $21.39–$30.05 per hour. This range is based on minimum job qualifications and considers factors such as education, experience, skills, certifications, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
