PROGRAM ANALYST.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the department representative on matters such as facilities and equipment maintenance, acquisitions, security controls, emergency preparedness, and records management.
• Analyze data to develop recommendations ensuring command supply operations projects and programs are completed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
• Provide technical and authoritative guidance on supply program operations best practices to internal and external customers.
• Prepare and disseminate reports and recommendations related to supply operations functions and best practices.
• Read and interpret Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DON) policies to ensure program compliance.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level (time-in-grade requirement).
• Appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date is subject to provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• May require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites; must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
• This is a Mission Essential position; must ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of essential tasks.
• Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Work is performed in areas with potentially harmful physical and chemical agents (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and chemicals); must participate in medical surveillance programs.
• Must be able to lift material weighing up to 45 pounds.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes:

• Compiling, analyzing, and evaluating data about a supply program's operations.
• Developing, executing, and communicating program/process improvements for a supply program.
• Interpreting, evaluating, and providing administrative guidance on supply program policies and procedures.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills.
