Professor of Biological Anthropology, Open Rank

About the role

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Louisville invites applications for a tenure-track open rank Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Biological Anthropology. We seek candidates focused on the areas of forensic anthropology, bioarchaeology, paleopathology, or paleoepidemiology.

Responsibilities

• Develop student skills in curricular areas such as human osteology, skeletal forensics, and related topics.
• Assist the Center for Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (CACHe) as necessary.
• Be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biological anthropology.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Strengthen our forensic anthropology minor.
• Participate in departmental activities.

Requirements

• Active research agenda.
• Ph.D. completed by the time of appointment.
• The position is contingent on the availability of funding.

Qualifications

• Prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biological anthropology.
• Ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Experience in forensic anthropology, bioarchaeology, paleopathology, or paleoepidemiology.
• Strong commitment to developing and strengthening the forensic anthropology minor.
• Participation in departmental activities.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
