About the role

The College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), Department of Biological Sciences at Augusta University (AU) invites applications for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

Responsibilities

  • Research - 45% Research and other scholarly activities in the field to involve undergraduate and graduate science majors.
  • Teaching - 45% Teaching and coordinating biology courses as assigned.
  • Service - 10% Perform service on committees and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in biological sciences or related field.
  • At least 1-year postdoctoral experience.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Commitment to teaching or mentorship.

Qualifications

  • Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member.
  • Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
  • Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • External funding awards.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds. Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds. Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
