Primary Purpose

Lead the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality professional learning that improves educator practice and student outcomes. Provide instructional leadership through coaching, facilitation, project management, and implementation of district and state initiatives while supporting educator development across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Master’s Degree required
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate required
  • ESL Supplemental certification required
  • GT certification preferred
  • Bilingual certification preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in instructional leadership roles
  • Elementary teaching or instructional leadership experience preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and adult learning theory
  • Strong instructional coaching and facilitation skills
  • Experience designing and evaluating professional learning
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including management of multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data to inform professional learning and coaching
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and campuses
  • Experience coordinating large-scale events, conferences, and district initiatives
  • Knowledge of Texas curriculum standards, instructional best practices, and educator development systems
  • Proficiency with learning management systems and instructional technology

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Instructional Leadership
    • Design, facilitate, and evaluate high-quality professional learning that strengthens educator practice and improves student outcomes
    • Provide job-embedded instructional coaching and consultation for teachers, instructional leaders, collaborative teams, and administrators
    • Collaborate with district departments to implement instructional priorities and align professional learning to district goals
    • Support implementation of district and state initiatives by providing professional learning, coaching, technical assistance, and implementation support
    • Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems to support professional learning delivery, participant engagement, and program implementation
  • School/Organizational Climate And Improvement
    • Foster collaborative relationships with campus leaders, district departments, higher education partners, and community organizations to advance district priorities
    • Facilitate ongoing communication regarding professional learning initiatives, instructional improvement efforts, and district priorities
    • Use implementation data, participant feedback, and student outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning and recommend improvements
    • Serve on district committees, leadership teams, and cross-functional work groups as assigned
  • Administration And Fiscal/Facilities Management
    • Coordinate district professional learning initiatives, conferences, institutes, and other large-scale learning experiences from planning through evaluation
    • Manage project timelines, logistics, communication, and stakeholder coordination for multiple concurrent initiatives
    • Maintain accurate records, documentation, reporting requirements, and compliance for district initiatives and grant-funded programs
    • Collaborate with the Director of Professional Learning to monitor assigned budgets and recommend instructional resources that support district priorities
  • School/Community Relations
    • Build and maintain productive relationships with campus leaders, district staff, community organizations, higher education partners, and state agencies
    • Represent the Professional Learning Department through district events, community partnerships, professional organizations, and statewide initiatives
    • Communicate district professional learning opportunities and educator development initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Professional Growth And Development
    • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices, adult learning theory, coaching strategies, educational technology, and emerging research
    • Apply current research and best practices to continuously improve professional learning systems and educator support
  • Professional Practices
    • Abide by the Professional Code of Ethics
    • Comply with all district policies, administrative procedures, grant requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations

    Working Conditions

    • Physical/Mental Demands: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Ability to coordinate district functions. Must interpret policy, procedures, and data.
    • Frequent lifting and carrying of moderate-weight materials.
    • Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel.
    • Frequent, prolonged and irregular hours.
    • Safety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
