Production Worker - Machine Operator

The Machine Operator role is key to our Production team, ensuring quality packaged products within specification ranges, meeting production, and cost-to-produce standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to optimum efficiencies to meet quality, cost, and operational requirements of daily schedules.
  • Improve production efficiencies through training, equipment recommendations, and communication with supervisor.
  • Train new team members, ensuring performance meets standards at line flow speeds.
  • Follow processes to ensure the product and packaging meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Monitor actual production against schedule; communicate/coordinate required volumes with production supervisor.
  • Oversee production team while reworking product that does not meet specifications.
  • Ensure sanitation of line and equipment as needed/directed.
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures per OSHA regulations, including the Food Defense Plan and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Minimum of three years related experience and/or training

Skills

  • Knowledge of machine specifications, ranges, and targets to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
  • Ability to solve simple math equations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
  • Ability to work in a loud environment while focusing on tasks.
  • Availability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions

  • Traditional warehouse and distribution facility environment.
  • Exposure to large, specialized equipment and moving machinery.
  • High noise level.
  • Exposure to cold/freezing temperatures and hazardous materials.
  • Wet environment with required safety equipment (hair nets, gloves, smock, etc.).
