Production Worker (FPI Inspector 3rd Shift)

About the role

The FPI Inspector is responsible for inspecting castings for defects using a penetrant and black light booth. The position is located at Howmet Casting in Dover, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Inspects castings under black and white light in accordance with predetermined standards for purposes of detecting surface defects
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
• Marks failures and separates castings into acceptable, failure, and rework categories
• Highlights abnormal indications to supervision
• Affords assistance with dispatching when required
• Completes paperwork as assigned by supervisor or job standards

Qualifications

• This position requires the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English
• Must be able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice
• BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Access to export-controlled items, High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution, No relocation benefit offered for this position
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Computer Skills

Physical Demands/Equipment Used

• Frequent sitting and standing
• Lifting up to 25 pounds
• Working in a dark environment
• Equipment used: spray guns, black lights, ovens, wash machines, developer cabinet

Pay

• New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $21.58; After 12 Months: $23.92
• Anticipated Pay Range: $28.00- $31.00 per hour

Schedule

• Afternoon Shift: Sunday - Thursday 10:00 PM – 06:30 PM
• Midnight Shift: Sunday Night - Thursday Night 10:30p - 6:30a
