Reports to: 3rd Shift Supervisor • Location: Tiffin, OH
Pay
$17.50/hr plus a $1/hr shift premium. Sign-on bonus: $1,000 paid out as $500 at 90 days and $500 at 180 days.
Schedule
Sunday through Thursday, 9:30 pm – 6:00 am (overtime as needed).
Responsibilities
- Operate presses, assist machine operators, remove parts from press, separate parts from scrap, assemble parts, stack or package parts, and operate equipment.
- Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Work in a team environment; ensure helpers understand their role, know necessary precautions, and locate emergency stop buttons.
- Understand and interpret company work orders and job control procedures.
- Work efficiently and accurately to achieve and maintain 100% of goals.
- Request or gather materials needed; assemble totes, prepare skids, bags, and boxes for packaging.
- Package a specific number of parts on skids, in bags, boxes, etc.; label them; stack bags of parts on racks or in appropriate packaging; move totes/skids of parts to storage or the next operation.
- Ensure safety devices are in place and report any unsafe behavior or situation.
- Stay aware of activities in working surroundings and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe area.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 18 years old.
- 3–6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure instructions; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; attention to detail is required.
- Reasoning: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; strong decision-making skills; ability to accomplish tasks without direct supervision.
- Math: Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, pre-algebra, and basic geometry.
Physical Requirements
- Standing/walking for 8–12 hours at a time.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels.
- Bending, twisting, and turning.
- Full use of both hands to handle, feel objects, tools, and controls.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close and distance vision.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
