Production Technician
About the role
We are seeking a Production Technician to support the Spartanburg, SC Plant. The primary responsibility is to carry out production operations following all established procedures, ensuring safety, environmental responsibility, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate all production chemical processing equipment including reactors, feeders, heat exchangers, piping networks, hoses, pumps, valves, instruments, vessels, scales, tanks, scrubbers, meters, etc.
- Conduct DCS operation to manipulate equipment controlled by the DCS.
- Maintain appropriate batch and shift paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace meeting the housekeeping standard established by the Operations Manager.
- Follow the direction of the shift coordinator in a professional and cordial manner.
- Prepare Work Orders for maintenance on the unit as needed as well as preparing the equipment for maintenance.
- Minimize waste generation; follow waste handling guidelines as specified in plant procedures.
- Report any process upset, spill, injury, chemical release, security event, etc.
- Safely operate fork trucks and the yard tractor with box and tank trailers.
- Perform minor maintenance activities on production equipment as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Represent Syensqo Inc. through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees.
- Work with engineers, production specialists, quality assurance technicians, distribution technicians, as well as other plant personnel to safely and efficiently accomplish plant responsibilities.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to perform inspections for pollution control devices preferred.
- Ability to perform all tasks that are required to operate the chemical processing unit at the Spartanburg facility is required.
- Ability to operate a computer and any associated software required.
- Knowledge of chemical processing equipment such as reactors, feeders, heat exchangers, piping networks, hoses, pumps, instruments, vessels, scales, tanks, etc. is strongly preferred.
- Ability to report for work as scheduled and be reliable to the team and make contributions.
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, yard tractors, and other pieces to maneuver tank trailers about plant site is strongly preferred.
Qualifications

Pay
The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is ($26.62 - $29.18 per hour).
