Production Technician

Role Overview

PIC North America, a Genus Company, invites passionate individuals to join as Production Technician at our location in Mound City, South Dakota. This entry-level position offers a hands-on role in maintaining the highest standards of animal health and welfare on our farms.

About the Role

The Production Technician plays a crucial role in PIC's operations, focusing on animal husbandry, record-keeping, and farm maintenance. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal health.
• Maintain accurate and timely production information and records.
• Treat sick animals with various pharmaceuticals, including injections, oral applications, and other methods.
• Maintain barn cleanliness and efficiency through sanitization and cleaning.
• Assist with office duties such as laundry and cleaning.
• Adhere to company policies and guidelines, including safety requirements and biosecurity protocols.
• Participate in emergency notifications and reporting of environmental issues.
• Work independently and collaboratively with farm teams.

Requirements

• Previous livestock handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Minimal travel required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay
