Production Technician

Purpose Of Role

Receive, unload, load, move, weigh, stack, and stage materials using a forklift or skid steer. Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.

Essential Functions

• Unload product by operating a forklift or skid steer while using appropriate handling and safety techniques.
• Load hoppers with material from lanes or grain trailer by using a skid steer.
• Segregate material through the use of a forklift or skid steer, weigh, label, check and stage inbound material correctly.
• Check material in lanes to ensure the paperwork description aligns correctly.
• Set-up supplies needed to prepare hopper for loading.
• Absorb material from trenches through the use of vacuum equipment.
• On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
• Sign/Date, and completely fill out all required paperwork for each load.
• Maintain good housekeeping using organizational skills and follow safety policies.
• Follow work instructions and safety policies.
• May be asked to assist in physical/cycle counts.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
• Identify damages, and report overages/shortages or quality deficiencies.

Knowledge / Qualifications / Skills / Experience

• Proven work experience in operating a forklift within a warehouse environment.
• Skid steer experience, preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to follow instructions given for daily tasks.
• Considerate and respectful to coworkers.
• Good math, language, and reading skills.
• Knowledge of proper PPE in differing tasks.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally sit on a powered industrial truck such as forklifts or skid steers.
• Frequently lift up to 55 lbs. and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time.
• Climb on and off equipment repeatedly.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
