About the role
Required to be able to handle glass. Must be Safety and Quality champions within the plant. Will conduct his/her self in a professional manner and lead by example. Immediately become a “Problem Solver” once quality defects are detected. Provides leadership to ensure team members demonstrate appropriate work skills, technical accuracy, efficiency and conformity to company policies.
Responsibilities
- Regularly monitors each team member’s adherence to safe work practices and Company’s safety policies as well as all quality practices and initiatives.
- Maintains employee productivity and ensures employees are at their workstations as required to meet daily productivity goals.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in written form.
- Serves as contact person for other Supervisors and Team Leaders to answer questions or address concerns.
- Relays and shares information with team members and other departments in a timely manner.
- Schedules meetings with staff and attends meetings with other departments to ensure optimum communication.
- Provides positive and negative feedback to team members both verbally and in writing as necessary.
- Conducts(ing) annual performance reviews for team members effectively and timely.
- Ability to positively coach and motivate departmental employees.
- Ensures team members receive appropriate training necessary to meet and exceed job expectations.
- Maintains production to ensure adherence to quality standards. Reinforces the use of work instructions and other documentation to ensure that quality standards are met.
- Writes or assists in writing Work Instructions for all positions within the department.
- Works with newly hired and/or transferred team members to ensure they thoroughly understand and properly perform their job duties in accordance with the work instructions.
- Spend a reasonable percentage of time focused on process improvement, which includes 5S.
- Responsible for end of shift housekeeping duties for area employees.
- Participate in ongoing training and other company programs to develop leadership and job skills when available.
- Focuses on the quality and timely delivery of completed tasks to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate MITER’s Core Values in all business interactions.
- Adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment.
Qualifications
- One year of similar work experience (Assembly, Manufacturing, and/or Warehouse).
- Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to read a tape measure.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Compute basic math problems to include fractions, and addition/subtraction.
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
