Production Team Lead

About the role

This is a hands-on leadership position in which you will assist the Production Supervisor and act as a highly skilled laser operator. You’ll work within a defined workstation team, coordinating activities, maintaining compliance, performing quality checks, and serving as a technical lead for first-level problems. The role involves moving product, assisting with training, and operating laser equipment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare documents, production sheets, and other reports required by contracting customers.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and share information with team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Assign tasks based on individual capabilities and ensure efficient job distribution.
• Proactively communicate issues to minimize downtime.
• Demonstrate job duties, observe worker performance, and ensure compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
• Encourage the team to meet quality and throughput goals consistently.
• Communicate objectives, expectations, and results regularly to all team members.
• Keep workers supplied with materials and necessary tools to complete tasks.
• Verify and record production counts on daily sheets, transferring data to customer databases or profiles.
• Ensure all daily reports are submitted on time with accurate data.
• Prepare shipments of finished goods to contracting customers.
• Keep supervisors informed of contract performance issues, including potential delays.
• Communicate worker performance related to quality and quantity for evaluations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3 years of previous experience in production.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inventory management skills.
