Production Team Lead

About the Role

The team leader provides daily leadership, direction, and support to packing associates, line feeders, and stackers while maintaining a safe, organized, clean, and efficient operation. This role requires proactive problem identification, analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Work with other line supervisors and management to ensure appropriate work priorities are assigned and issues are efficiently communicated and addressed.
• Assign crew members to specific duties to maximize department efficiency.
• Ensure the crew works safely and efficiently as a team.
• Correct unsafe work methods or behaviors and enforce all hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) and food safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years of extensive produce knowledge or related industry experience.
• General understanding of processing procedures in a high-volume warehouse/production facility.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Physical Demands

• Able to manually move 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, push, and pull.
• Constant standing and walking for periods over eight hours.

Decision-Making Authority

• Fully Independent Decisions:
  • Assign duties to crew members and direct workflow.
  • Ensure crew follows safety, work methods, and food safety procedures.
• Decisions Requiring Review/Approval:
  • Assigning work priorities to meet customer demands.
