About the role

A second shift production supervisor oversees and manages the daily operations of a manufacturing department specializing in thermoforming and general production operations, utilizing specialized equipment, paint, and finishing processes for aerospace goods. They ensure production targets are met efficiently, products meet quality standards, and safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a production team, ensuring they meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Assign tasks and resources to workers, ensuring that equipment, materials, and personnel are used effectively.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control processes to maintain product quality and compliance.
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are followed.
  • Train new employees, provide guidance, and facilitate employee development.
  • Create and manage production schedules to meet demand.
  • Address production issues, equipment malfunctions, and process inefficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain production records, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate reports.
  • Monitor and control production costs to stay within budget and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information.
  • Address conflicts or challenges within the production team and work toward positive resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Provide leadership to the production team and motivate employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, safety measures, maintenance, and employee performance.
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or qualifications in a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing role.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Molding and machining experience (preferred).
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
  • Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.

Pay

Compensation range: $80,000–$95,000 annually.
