About the role
The Production Supervisor will oversee the overall operations of specific areas ensuring production goals, consistent quality standards, and customer delivery requirements are all achieved. The Production Supervisor will lead team members and organize workflows in complex assembly operations.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises a team of 20-30+ production associates to ensure they consistently meet performance metrics and achieve production goals.
- Occasionally steps in to assist the line by assembling product, and covering for breaks and absent associates.
- Evaluates team and individual performance via consistent coaching and performance reviews to make recommendations for staffing, pay increases, and promotions.
- Follows policies, exercises ethical judgment, and ensures transparency in identifying, managing, and reporting issues. Supervises others effectively, holding them accountable to maintain these standards.
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products. This includes meeting scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Maintains staff by selecting and training team members, then developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; observing equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; initiating and fostering a “One Whisker” spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality of product by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
- Ensures timecard accuracy for all department team members through the company payroll system.
- Engages in 5S ("Sort", "Set In order", "Shine", "Standardize" and "Sustain”) activities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- 5+ years of experience managing people and teams is preferred.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate through department and one-on-one meetings.
- Ability to organize and evaluate programs, records, and documents

- Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
