About the role
This position leads the overall operational activities at a grain elevator, including day-to-day operations, maintenance oversight, management of operational expenses, and implementation of the company safety program. The role ensures the facility operates in a safe, efficient, and competitive manner to meet evolving business needs.
Responsibilities
- Direct all functions of operations to ensure adherence to safe work practices and maintenance programs.
- Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, safety, and environmental programs to maintain a productive and safe working environment.
- Manage grain inventories, storage, quality, blending techniques, and barge/truck scheduling.
- Oversee operational expenses aligned with the annual budget and collaborate on long-range business plans.
- Execute the annual capital expenditure plan to maintain facility integrity and support business growth.
- Lead major strategic projects to meet targets.
- Maintain company-specific software and operational systems.
- Manage hiring, training, and development processes.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Technical College Degree/Certification and 3+ years of elevator experience or equivalent preferred.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in company-specific software and operational systems.
- Solid computer skills, including Email, Excel, Microsoft Word, and other technical software packages.
- Expert understanding of policies and procedures.
- Exceptional people management skills and ability to develop staff.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work odd hours, weekends, and a rotating shift schedule.
Schedule
12-hour rotating shift (48-hour week / 36-hour week).
