About the role
The Manufacturing Operations Engineer / Supervisor is a hybrid role at the heart of our industrial operations. You will be responsible for both the technical optimization of assembly processes and the direct leadership of production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead workshops on existing lines to reduce manufacturing costs, cycle times, and scrap percentages to achieve best-in-class status.
- Collaborate with P1 design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) within production constraints.
- Create and manage work instructions, PFMEAs, and LLC/Kaizen cards.
- Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned assembly lines to pilot improvement opportunities and support vendors with new equipment integration.
- Apply advanced quality measures to ensure robust product design and "first time right" parts for the customer.
People Management & Leadership
- Lead the induction of all newcomers (including temporaries) and manage the scheduling of training actions.
- Analyze flexibility needs within your perimeter, define training plans, and maintain a real-time flexibility grid/certification process.
- Oversee absenteeism, holidays, safety enforcement, and environmental risk analysis.
- Conduct annual appraisals and career development discussions for operators.
- Ensure a positive work environment and high levels of personnel involvement.
Production & Standards Management
- Ensure daily production meets SQCDM (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation) and inventory targets in alignment with the MPS (Master Production Schedule).
- Perform daily OJT with teams to ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, 5S, and work standards.
- Deploy TPM standards, manage "red tag" abnormality detection, and lead maintenance line QRQCs.
- Systematically check the gemba to validate working times, ensure respect of standard stops, and monitor equipment performance (cycle time and micro-stoppages).
Continuous Improvement & Valeo 5 Axes
- Lead action plans to improve SQCDM performance in coherence with Plant and APU productivity plans (P-30).
- Pilot PDCA, FTA, and Maintenance "5 Whys" on assigned topics (Safety, Quality, DL Efficiency).
- Lead VPS workshops (Flow analysis, Muda hunting, Hoshin, TPM) and present status updates to the Site VPS committee.
- Participate in budget preparation (headcounts, investments, P-30) and manage the budget for your assigned zone.
- Promote the Valeo 5 Axes in daily activities to reach assigned V5000 targets.
What You Should Have
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing) is highly preferred, but experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- 0-3 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in assembly processes.
- Experience with PFMEAs, Lean Manufacturing principles (VPS), and time-measurement methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage diverse teams and drive a culture of accountability.
