Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Supervisor position at Georgia-Pacific's plywood mill in Taylorsville, MS, oversees a team to ensure a safe and efficient production environment. Key responsibilities include driving process improvements, facilitating team development, monitoring quality, and addressing production issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 20 to 30 members in a continuous manufacturing environment
• Supervise and coordinate production efforts to enhance EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and cost metrics
• Facilitate team development, employee skill enhancement, problem-solving, and resolution
• Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability
• Maintain product quality and provide guidance to improve efficiency
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving production challenges
• Work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods in noisy and non-climate-controlled areas

Requirements

• Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience
• Flexible to work any shift, including day, night, weekend, and holiday work hours
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferred in a technical or business discipline
• Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing or military environment
• Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in the wood products industry

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and PC-based production reporting systems
