About the role
The Production Supervisor at Gardner Abrasives is responsible for directing departmental operations, planning and scheduling work, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Directs the work of the department by assigning duties and evaluating performance against established standards.
- Plans and schedules work in department in accordance with production work sheets.
- Notifies Production Office of grain, powder, or equipment shortages that will affect runs so that substitutions can be made or orders deleted from runs and adjusts manpower accordingly.
- Recommends new tooling and/or equipment for more efficient production methods.
- Works in close coordination with Manufacturing Manager and Finishing Supervisor to ensure consistent production rates and to meet shipping supervisor requirements.
- Participates in the process of selecting and job placement of department personnel.
- Assures that assigned personnel receive proper training, enabling them to achieve production and quality goals.
- Makes recommendations pertaining to work hours and overtime.
- Administers Company policy consistently across the workforce.
- Recommends and takes corrective action to resolve employee and production issues.
- SUBMIT REPAIR WORK ORDERS AND PURCHASE REQUISITIONS TO ASSURE THE AVAILABILITY OF NECESSARY EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES.
- FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES AND RULES FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY.
- SUPPORTS AND PARTICIPATES IN THE ISO 9000 CERTIFICATION AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROCESSES.
- PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS ASSIGNED.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Pay
$27-$36 per hour, salary is determined by experience.
