Production Supervisor for 2nd Shift (4:00pm-2:30am) leading safety and environmental initiatives to achieve world class performance.

Responsibilities

  • Actively lead safety and environmental initiatives to achieve world class performance
  • Knowledge of all production processes and equipment
  • Monitor performance of team
  • Develop action plans for training and people development for team
  • Lead and coach direct reports
  • Give leadership support to peers and to Site Manager as needed
  • Understand all production related documents (SOP's, BOM's, Quality Standards, etc.) and help to keep them current and accurate
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Manage operational metrics to acceptable levels in accordance with GMP & QSR requirements with a strong focus on safety
  • Responsible to lead, set expectations and all necessary reporting
  • Understand and execute role as a leader of production and role as a member of the site leadership team
  • Complete other related projects as assigned
  • Time on production floor – know processes and equipment
  • Monitor performance and achieve objectives related to Safety, Quality, Environmental, Efficiency, Timeliness and Cost Effectiveness of work within the production floor and meets on time delivery dates
  • Setting production personnel schedule
  • Manages Production Team directly
  • Understands all production related documents and helps to keep them current and accurate
  • Responsible for the training, coaching and development of employees and documenting progress
  • Drives Continuous Improvement and Safety Initiatives
  • All else required by manager to help team reach performance goals

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in supervision of production employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Safe and quality work ethic
  • Understand SOP's that relate to department activities
  • Aware of the Quality Policy Statement
  • Must have knowledge of materials and inventory control practices, production scheduling, and engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in an ISO environment and with WCM programs
  • Good analytical problem solving skills
  • Proficient in use of computers and spreadsheet software with experience with business systems (QAD, Kronos, Microsoft Office), and other computer hardware and software
  • Must have ability to manage performance, leadership skills, initiative, strong organizational and decision-making skills, team building and motivating skills, and a high degree of customer orientation
  • Must be a team player
  • Self-starter and meet commitments & deadlines with limited direct supervision
