About the role
Production Supervisor for 2nd Shift (4:00pm-2:30am) leading safety and environmental initiatives to achieve world class performance.
Responsibilities
- Actively lead safety and environmental initiatives to achieve world class performance
- Knowledge of all production processes and equipment
- Monitor performance of team
- Develop action plans for training and people development for team
- Lead and coach direct reports
- Give leadership support to peers and to Site Manager as needed
- Understand all production related documents (SOP's, BOM's, Quality Standards, etc.) and help to keep them current and accurate
- Drive continuous improvement
- Manage operational metrics to acceptable levels in accordance with GMP & QSR requirements with a strong focus on safety
- Responsible to lead, set expectations and all necessary reporting
- Understand and execute role as a leader of production and role as a member of the site leadership team
- Complete other related projects as assigned
- Time on production floor – know processes and equipment
- Monitor performance and achieve objectives related to Safety, Quality, Environmental, Efficiency, Timeliness and Cost Effectiveness of work within the production floor and meets on time delivery dates
- Setting production personnel schedule
- Manages Production Team directly
- Understands all production related documents and helps to keep them current and accurate
- Responsible for the training, coaching and development of employees and documenting progress
- Drives Continuous Improvement and Safety Initiatives
- All else required by manager to help team reach performance goals
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in supervision of production employees in a manufacturing environment
- Safe and quality work ethic
- Understand SOP's that relate to department activities
- Aware of the Quality Policy Statement
- Must have knowledge of materials and inventory control practices, production scheduling, and engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in an ISO environment and with WCM programs
- Good analytical problem solving skills
- Proficient in use of computers and spreadsheet software with experience with business systems (QAD, Kronos, Microsoft Office), and other computer hardware and software
- Must have ability to manage performance, leadership skills, initiative, strong organizational and decision-making skills, team building and motivating skills, and a high degree of customer orientation
- Must be a team player
- Self-starter and meet commitments & deadlines with limited direct supervision
