Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating daily shift operations to ensure quality, quantity, safety, and cost targets are met during the manufacture of frozen dessert products in a cGMP compliant environment.
  • Planning and assigning work, enforcing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
  • Assuring that all Master Batch Record and quality control requirements are properly executed and documented during frozen dessert processing operations and that all products consistently meet specifications.
  • Making sure hourly employees are trained and evaluated in all aspects of production and packaging operations.
  • Monitoring line outputs and measuring line KPI's in a continual improvement environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with all state and federal employment laws.
  • Maintaining high levels of good housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Developing and maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Participating in meetings with corporate and local management.
  • Keeping management informed of developments as they occur.
  • Maintaining department records and transferring them to central filing.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the quality system.
  • Participating in departmental and cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects.
  • Performing tasks beyond normal job responsibilities and participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives.
  • Exhibiting continuity to the site supporting corporate and local management policies.
  • Ensuring adherence to Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Following established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Supporting the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
  • Performing all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations.
  • Complying with Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety and quality standards.
  • Participating in departmental and cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, food science, or a related field or at least five years of experience as a production supervisor in a regulated industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated good mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute safe work practices & behaviors and lead others to do the same.
  • Demonstrated leadership interest and ability to work effectively to motivate others and elicit work output.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of personnel individually or in a team environment and ability to interface and communicate with production line workers and area managers.
  • Demonstrated willingness to work any shift, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated willingness to adhere to cGMP requirements and lead others to do the same.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of frozen dessert or dairy manufacturing and packaging technology preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using modern technology and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Competitive pay is offered based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Hours for this position are approximately 1:00pm-9:30pm, Monday through Friday.
