Safety
- Promotes a culture where safety is number 1 by actively coaching employees on safety behaviors.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all team members.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Submits near misses and accident reports timely and conducts thorough root cause analysis.
Quality
- Maintain product quality standards through regular inspections and process improvements.
- Collaborate with the quality lead to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Implement measures to enhance product quality and consistency.
Productivity
- Analyze daily production activities to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Leverage ITW toolbox methodologies to optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Talent Management
- Lead, mentor, and coach production team members to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the HR department to address employee concerns, conduct training, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Ensure team members complete training requirements.
- Continuously work on closing gaps identified in shift’s skills matrix and help with developing employees.
Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination between departments.
- Foster a culture of open communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to achieve overall production goals.
Position Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED plus 5+ years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or other related technical field and 2+ years of related experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, quality control, and production processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Passion for building a culture of employee development and building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location (this range is for successful candidates in the Chicago, Illinois metro area), and may fall outside of this range in certain circumstances. Additionally, the successful and their eligible family members will be eligible for ITW’s generous benefits.
