Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

About the role

Primarily responsible for the overall safety, quality, and productivity of the production areas, ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining cost of goods sold (COGS) to budget plans. Fosters engaged employees that drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles such as Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and DMAIC process, ensuring optimal utilization of employees, equipment, and material according to all order fulfillment requirements—quality, timeliness, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the daily operation of assigned department(s), including staffing levels (direct/contract) and budget accountability to accomplish plant objectives efficiently.
• Provide training and reinforcement to ensure the workforce understands and applies skills required to produce quality products according to Greene, Tweed and customer requirements.
• Administer company rules, regulations, and safety policies; initiate and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide leadership, direction, and cross-functional collaboration between shifts/departments; maintain availability to operators to address questions.
• Analyze department performance against metrics, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and communicate goals to ensure alignment with plant commitments.
• Guide workforce in compliance with Standard Work; recommend improvements to Work Instructions, methods, processes, policies, and equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required; preference given to candidates with a BS Degree.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification desired.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience, including exposure to leading/directing the work of others; 3 years of direct supervision experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement and High-Performance Work teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example, serving as a positive role model and embracing standard work.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels in the organization.
• Metric-driven and analytical problem-solving experience; root cause analysis/Six Sigma training a plus.
• U.S. Person status as defined by applicable law for authorized access to ITAR-controlled data (includes U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, lawful permanent residents, and workers granted refugee or asylum status).
