Responsibilities

  • Supervise the manufacturing processes in a safe and efficient manner to ensure product is shipped on time and at a profit.
  • Responsible for supervising, planning team support, schedule adherence and directing the hourly work force to achieve daily plans to satisfy customer demand.
  • Manage a team of about 25-30 people, including machine operators, machinists, and assembly personnel.
  • Support continuous improvements to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Manufacturing teams to ensure best practices.
  • Conduct Audits and Inspections of products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Supervise 25+ hourly employees in accordance with policy and local Union/Management Agreement.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives through spot and planned “Kaizen” events and workshops.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of job-related experience in a manufacturing environment (machining/ CNC strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and concepts with continuous improvement experience.
  • 3+ years of people management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating a team to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery as needed.
  • Excellent organization and employee development skills.
  • The ability to read, understand and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • The ability to use quality gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel) and ERP/ systems.

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience working within a Union environment.
  • Software: ADEP Workforce Manager software experience.
