Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Process Technicians during daily manufacturing operations.
- Spend the majority of the workday on the production floor monitoring processes, equipment, and technician performance.
- Ensure production activities are performed safely, efficiently, and according to established procedures.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and accountability to technicians.
- Maintain safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
- Ensure technicians consistently follow process controls and operating procedures.
- Monitor polyurethane manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and process stability.
- Review production data, process parameters, and operational performance throughout the shift.
- Verify proper machine setup and adherence to established process controls.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Support efforts to improve throughput, reduce scrap, and increase operational efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Cook with Maintenance to support equipment repairs, preventive maintenance activities, and process-related troubleshooting.
- Work with Tooling, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support production objectives.
- Assist with prototype, service, and special production activities as required.
- Operational Support:
- Review previous shift performance and communicate operational priorities.
- Participate in daily production reviews and performance discussions.
- Maintain accurate departmental records, reports, and documentation.
- Support production during off-hours when significant process-related issues require technical leadership and oversight.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and manufacturing experience.
- Minimum three years of polyurethane manufacturing and processing experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of process control and manufacturing operations.
- Experience troubleshooting production and process-related issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience leading manufacturing technicians or production teams (preferred).
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives (preferred).
- Knowledge of quality systems, root-cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies (preferred).
- Basic tooling and production equipment knowledge (preferred).
