Production & Packaging Supervisor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory levels at outside warehouses.
• Ensures blends are prepared on a timely basis to meet customer needs.
• Aids in establishing operational procedures for warehouse and inventory activities.
• Assists in maintaining the physical condition and sanitation of a food warehouse and its equipment.
• Uses JDE system effectively to control, adjust, consume, and move inventory.
• Supervises and coordinates Grinding and Blending production operations.
• Organizes procedures and operates to achieve objectives within the production schedule.
• Supports the QA department in developing and maintaining relationships.
• Maintains adherence to departmental and company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Maintains time and production records, coordinates cycle counts, and implements physical inventory programs.
• Works with operators to implement and sustain 5S principles in the Grinding and Blending area.
• Fulfills food safety procedures to promote the company's food safety culture.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directs the supervision of approximately 12 production employees.
• Collaborates with the Operations Coordinator to coordinate schedules.
• Trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs their work.
• Assists the Warehouse Manager with interviewing and hiring opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• 2+ years of warehousing or manufacturing/production experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• Food manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge and use of inventory management software and other organizational computer applications.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to cold, heat, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, outside weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
