About the role
Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Production Operator at its Gurdon Plywood facility in Arkansas. The facility manufactures pine plywood panels and siding suitable for residential and light commercial construction.
Responsibilities
- Pull and lift plywood, panels, or scraps up to 25 pounds.
- Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to specified patterns and project requirements.
- Absorb and read written instructions to complete assigned tasks.
- Operate and assist in maintaining production equipment, including forklifts.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and seek out potential hazards.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, and other associates.
- Cross-train on various machines to increase operational knowledge.
- Work flexible hours, including first, second, and third shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Requirements
- Prior experience in manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environments.
- Experience using smartphones, computers, or tablets.
- Two (2) years or more of consistent experience in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment.
- One (1) year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience driving and operating a forklift or other mobile equipment.
- Experience working in wood products (lumber, plywood, or timber industry).
Qualifications
- Physical requirements include walking on elevated catwalks, performing tasks such as lifting (50 lbs), and working in non-climate-controlled conditions.
Skills
- Ability to work any hours, including a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Pay
$20.00 per hour, with a $1.50 shift differential for night shift.
Schedule
Shifts are flexible and candidates must be available to work first, second, or third shifts as needed. Orientation is on day shift and permanent shift assignment occurs after orientation.
