United Rotary Brush is an Olathe, Kansas based manufacturer of specialty industrial brushes for the airport, road construction, street sweeping, and plow industries. Our Olathe, KS manufacturing facility (I-35 & Old 56 Hwy) is seeking a 1st Shift Production Operator.
About the role
Participate in line setup and production of high-volume brushes and brooms. Ensure machines operate effectively and efficiently to meet daily production needs. Operate machines, perform light maintenance and cleaning, and maintain safety and quality guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety procedures in all actions.
- Safely operate machinery to produce and manufacture company product lines.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following workplace and governmental safety guidelines, wearing proper safety gear (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots), and leading by example.
- Clean and maintain equipment in the work area during and at the end of each shift.
- Monitor machinery for efficient and effective operation; request maintenance assistance when needed.
- Feed raw materials into production machinery.
- Pack materials for product following work order quantities, with attention to detail and accurate piece counts.
- Label product according to quality specifications.
- Record production information on work orders.
- Carry out basic quality and testing checks with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understand deadlines and maintain awareness of daily production output requirements and quality goals.
- Time in and time out properly according to company policy.
- Work with large, powerful equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand production work orders.
- Attention to detail and focus on high-quality production processes.
- Ability to recognize machine malfunctions by sound or product quality.
- Able to perform the job with limited supervision.
- Arrives on time, stays on task, and takes pride in work quality and quantity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Physical requirements
- Standing on feet for prolonged periods.
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, and stretch to perform work duties.
Pay
$22 per hour.
Schedule
6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday.
