Production / Machine Operator

About the Role

Operation and maintenance of production equipment to meet production goals on a daily basis. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machinery, as well as fabricating replacement and new parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily start-up and shut-down of machines.
• Keep machines properly maintained (cleaned and lubricated).
• Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
• Complete required forms to ensure proper operations and set up of all machines.
• Read electrical and pneumatic diagrams to help speed the repair of equipment if it malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot machine issues quickly.
• Set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Install facility machinery.
• Fabricate replacement and new parts for facility machinery.
• Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain facility machinery.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery.
• Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
• Program PLCs.
• Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
• Communicate with operators from other shifts.
• Maintain and secure work tools.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Perform back-up for assembly line.
• Other duties as assigned.
