Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fosters a sense of teamwork and collaboration among team members by building an employee culture that is aligned with HCC values and operating principles.
  • Ensures all employees are treated consistently, fairly, ethically, and respectfully.
  • Consistently follows departmental directions and adheres to all product specifications, food safety programs, GMPs, and HACCP Policies.
  • Directs, delegates, and assigns tasks to subordinates; trains and motivates employees.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment. Ensures that workstations are restocked and sanitized ready for the next shift.
  • Works with other leads, supervisors, and managers to plan and prepare production schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Trains and cross-trains associates following a training matrix and rotation schedule.
  • Conducts pre-operational and post-operational inspections.
  • Informs appropriate personnel on the status of items being produced.
  • Reports employee absences, tardiness to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Ensures production schedule is completed in a timely manner, verifies and closes all production batches.
  • Assists in inventory management (ie, Cycle Count, Adjustments, Inventory Movement, Manufacturing) using WMS System – Mobe3.
  • Works with Bakery Supervisor or Manager in planning the production and line balancing.
  • Completes a work order request for any maintenance issues that arise during the shift.
  • Ensures all issues are communicated to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Assists in testing new recipes.
  • Participates in training and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Records operations or production data using the Production Control Reports.

Skills

  • Represents the company brand image and shares aloha to all customers, business partners, and co-workers at all levels throughout the company.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to lead others.
  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and following safety procedures.
  • High level verbal communication ability.
  • Able to work well with others and be a team-player.
  • Able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period.
  • Able to understand and follow oral or written work instructions.
  • Possesses basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Wears protective gear (uniform), including gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, hearing protection, hair nets, beard nets, etc.

Physical Demands

  • Inside of a typical industrial facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, sound (decibels), odors, humidity and elevations.
  • Team members are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles.
  • Continuously lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, and squatting and repetitive motions.
  • Able to sit, stand and walk throughout an 8 to 10-hour shift.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision 20 inches or less, (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
  • Distance vision 20 feet or more (not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus).
  • Specific hearing abilities include the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., forklifts, packaging, machinery alarms), medical codes or alarms and communication purposes.
  • Able to work flexible hours and overtime as required, including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours based on the scheduling needs of production.
  • Absence: Bakery Supervisor shall cover duties for Bakery Production lead during absence.
