Production Assistant - Day Shift

Essential Functions

• Contributes to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
• Aid the department in producing a quality product based upon product specifications.
• Maintain quality checks to ensure that the products (color, surface, size, etc.) meet product standards before packaging.
• Place pallets and execute proper packaging techniques for finished materials as directed.
• Support the extrusion operator with all machine cleaning tasks including saws, tanks, etc., when necessary.
• Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to production assistants, assistant operators, operators, and team leaders as needed.
• Follow all plant safety procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
• Understand and adhere to all company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Complete production operator reports and other quality and production paperwork as necessary.
• Attach labels according to product specifications.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the production area.
• Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by leadership.

Skills & Abilities

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
• Other Requirements: Ability to read, write, and understand the English language; basic mathematical proficiency in the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions; ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read gauges and similar measuring devices.
